Prior to any
adoption, a home check will be carried out, and references may be required.
Please understand
that not every dog we have is suitable for every home, and don't be too
disappointed if we feel the dog you like the look of is not the right one.
Conditions
of Adoption are non- negotiable.
1. Not
to part with possession of the dog, but to inform German Shepherd Dog rehoming
for advice if, for any reason you are unable to keep the dog. German Shepherd
Rehoming will endevour to rehome the dog wherever possible.
2. Bitches/Dogs
must not be bred from and it is a condition of adoption they be spayed/castrated.
3. Not
to allow the dog to be used for experimentation or stage purposes of any
kind.
4. Feed,
care and house the dog to the satisfaction of the organisation.
5. Provide
qualified veterinary treatment in the case of illness or injury.
6. Ensure
the dog receives annual vaccination.
7. To
abide by all requirements of the laws relating to dogs.
8. To
ensure that my name and address are permanently engraved on the collar,
or on a disc attached thereto. (Control of Dogs Act)
9. Notify
the local authority, police, Petlog Database/NDTR and the organisation
immediately should the said dog become lost or missing.
10. You
understand that although we tell you everything we know about the dog,
we do not always have a complete history and therefore CAN NOT GUARANTEE
FUTURE HEALTH, BEHAVIOUR, TEMPERAMENT, etc.
Short term insurance
cover is included by us at the time of adoption however new owners are
responsible for veterinary treatment (any exceptions will be agreed prior
to the dog leaving our premisis ) and 3rd party liability from the moment
the dog leaves our care irrespective of whether an adoption contract has
yet been signed.
To enable us
to continue to care for the dogs, an appropriate donation will be requested
for dogs adopted through the rescue. This is not a purchase price for the
dog being adopted. All donations go towards the cost of caring for the
dogs that come into our care, and these are the ONLY funds which allow
us to continue providing this service.
